Life has a way of overwhelming a marriage: jobs, kids, activities, errands. Before you know it, checking your email is more important than carving out a date night. We want to offer you a chance to make a change: a time to rediscover each other and find more intimacy in your life together. We invite you and your spouse to join Calvary’s Marriage Ministry Team at the Family Life Weekend to Remember Marriage Getaway! Contact Regina with questions.

Community Group Launch - Registration Deadline This Monday
Next Sunday, February 12 | 4:30pm
Our goal at Calvary is to see every believer experiencing authentic Christian community. A Community Group is a great place to build meaningful relationships; join us this winter! New groups will be forming on February 12 at our Community Group Launch. We would love for you to experience community here at Calvary Church.

To join one of the new groups, register online at calvarygr.org or complete a registration form at the Connection Point by February 6 and plan on joining us on February 12. Contact Karen at ext 5173 with any questions.

Living a Full Life Workshop
February 23 | 9:30am-1:00pm | Fellowship Hall
Cost: $5 (includes lunch)
Are you one of the 10,000 Americans who will retire today? Today’s generation of retirees is living 25 years longer; what will you do with those years? Will you wake up on fire for what’s ahead? Or will you groan and lament that your best days are behind you?

Join Dr. L. James Harvey (author of the book Run Thru the Tape) for this inspiring workshop designed to help you see how the last third of life is the best third! Retirement is a time for continuing the race, not finishing it. Society’s perspective has twisted us all, but it’s not too late to change our view of the golden years. Contact Regina at 956-9377, ext. 3672 to register.

Prayer for Mozambique
A group will be gathering the first Sunday of each month to pray for our brothers and sisters in Mozambique. If you are interested, please join them today, February 5, at 11:15am, in Room 110.

SERVING OPPORTUNITIES

Help Needed
God is looking for loving, dependable people willing to serve families and their children/ youth with special needs. It would be so beneficial for the students to have a relationship with someone who came weekly to spend time and build a relationship with them as well as their parents. This is a ministry that is full of opportunities and blessings! Contact Judi at ext. 5272 or Elleen at ext. 5623 right away; there are students waiting to meet you!

Teen MOPS Childcare
Volunteers needed to provide loving care for the children of our Teen MOPS moms, 1st and 3rd Wednesdays, 6:30-8:00pm. If you feel led to minister to these precious moms and children, contact Elaine at ext. 5186.

Second & Third Grade Teacher Needed at 11:15am
What does this involve?

  • Prepare and teach a weekly lesson (curriculum provided)
  • Pray regularly for each child and other volunteers on your team
  • Build relationships with children and parents

  • Vacuum
  • Car for ministry use
  • Gift cards
  • Graphic design work
  • Computer network switcher

To make a donation or hear about other needs, contact YFC at info@wmyfc.org, or call 477-9460.

Volunteer with Habitat
Habitat for Humanity of Kent County is in the midst of its most ambitious building schedule ever and is in need of retired, semi-retired, or night shift workers to serve as weekday volunteers. Several Calvary Church members serve with this ministry and with a few more, a regular Calvary Crew could be developed – or just work when your schedule allows. For more information, contact Joni Jessup, the Volunteer Coordinator for Habitat Kent County, at 588-5224.

Pray With the Elders
The elders meet for prayer from 6:15-7:15pm on the first Tuesday of each month, in Room 211. If you would like the elders to pray for you or would simply like to join them in prayer, please stop by. Nehemiah Prayer Team
When Nehemiah heard that the walls of Jerusalem needed repair, his first response was to fast and pray for four months. For the past two years, the elders and deacons have been praying and fasting for God’s wisdom concerning our space needs. Now we would like to invite our church family to join us. If you are willing to fast and pray with the elders, please email Sarah Merrill, and we will add your name to a regular prayer update.
